faceted browsing component for TEI
This may be a feature request or just me not seeing how to enable something that already exists. Apologies if it is the latter.
Is there an out-of-the box way for TEI Publisher to pick up a arbitrarily deeply-nested hierarchical TEI <taxonomy>
of <category>
elements which are pointed to with a @ana
attribute. See for example the Shakespeare Sonnet example at https://www.tei-c.org/release/doc/tei-p5-doc/en/html/ref-taxonomy.html
Basically, if this component was turned on then for a whole collection one would have selectable facets to narrow down finding a particular document in the collection. One facet or sub-facet would be created for each nested category, and presumably would have to be done on import of documents to the collection, indexing, or as a stand-alone job. Since using @ana
to point to categories (in same document or as separate taxonomy document) is an increasingly common and flexible system that projects are using it seemed like something that might be useful to add to TEI Publisher. Unless of course I've missed it and it is already there!
